Ethnographic Museum of the Regole d'Ampezzo

The Ethnographic Museum of the Regole d'Ampezzo, located in the former sawmill of the Regole and opened in 2011, was created to let the public know the fundamental cultural and environmental aspects of the Ampezzo community. It is thanks to the Regole d'Ampezzo, in fact, that the territory of Cortina and culture are the current ones.
The Regole represented ancient institutions that had the task of regulating the use of the collective ownership of land, belonging to the families from Cortina and the relationship between man and the environment. The museum is structured on different levels and the exhibition begins with a presentation of the Regole d'Ampezzo and its history especially the collection of ancient Laudi, the rules that regulated the use of collective property.
