Settimana Valley - Pussa Mountain Hut

The route runs through the Settimana Valley along the banks of the stream which gives the valley its name. It is one of the most important valleys in the "Dolomiti Friulane e d'Oltre Piave" system of the UNESCO Dolomites is a good example of the landscape in the eastern-most part of the World Heritage Site. The predominant rocks in this section of the World Heritage Site tell the story of the late Triassic and the Jurassic, namely the concluding stages in the formation of the Dolomites. The towering peaks of Pramaggiore and Cornaget and the extremely steep, wooded slopes underline the wild nature of the Dolomiti Friulane, adding to their "sublime" appeal.
