The accessible viewpoint of Col Rodella lies at an altitude of 2387 metres and provides a spectacular view over the Fassa Valley and the World Heritage mountain groups of the Marmolada and the Sciliar-Catinaccio and Latemar system. Col Rodella is a natural balcony which stands alone between the Sassolungo and Sella groups. It is accessed directly from the village of Campitello by the ski lift (one section).
The vast plateau around the uphill station allows you to fully appreciate the views in the open air. Just a short distance from the station (approx. 200 m) along a flat path, you can find refreshments which can be enjoyed on the beautiful panoramic terrace. This is also the starting point for various excursions. Col Rodella is one of the most interesting geological sites in the valley, with visible evidence of the coverings of volcanic and sedimentary rock associated with the Dolomite formations that have made these mountains so famous throughout the world.
