The Alta Via No. 2 is about 180 km long, it has 13 legs and connects Bressanone (BZ) with Feltre (BL).
The route takes you through three provinces (Bolzano, Trento and Belluno), across eight Dolomite groups and through thirty mountain passes. The average altitude of the trail is 2000 – 3000 metres and you skirt a series of great peaks over 3000 metres high and some small but spectacular lakes.
The Alta Via No. 2 is also called the “Way of the Legends”, as it goes through magical places mentioned in age-old fairytales: the fantastic Odle cliffs, the mythical kingdom of characters in Ladin tales, and the remote high glacial valleys of the Vette Feltrine which, according to popular legend, have been inhabited for centuries by devils, witches and ogres.
