The route goes around the sides of Corno Bianco, the uppermost part of a deep canyon which is of extraordinary geological interest. This canyon belongs to the “Bletterbach” system of the UNESCO Dolomites. A visit to the Bletterbach Geopark shows what the mountain looks like when sectioned from top to bottom, while this itinerary shows the external morphology, illustrating the origin of the Dolomite landscape. The route is mainly flat and crosses the large meadows in the Oclini pass that, together with the Lavazè pass, has been crossed by man since prehistory and is still used as pastureland.
